About the Artist

LIFE WITH SQUID is written, drawn, inked, edited and obsessed over by Heather Little, a Florida-based sequential artist who graduated from Savannah College of Art and Design. Heather specializes in sequential art, but has also been known to dabble in illustration, sculpture, painting and replacing parts of songs with the word “moo”.

She has an untreated addiction for all things cephalopod, as evidenced by the myriad of squid and octopus paraphernalia which litters her home, and has family and friends which (for reasons beyond her understanding) actively support her habit. Her ultimate dream is to see a live squid (an event which has up to this point eluded her) and then promptly squeal, leap into the tank and cuddle it until she’s dragged away by authorities. However, she would also settle for seeing LIFE WITH SQUID eventually published.

This is a fairly accurate depiction of the artist.

LIFE WITH SQUID started as a prompt for a five page comic in Heather’s senior year of college, which basically read (beware of paraphrasing):

“You are asleep in your bed when you are awoken by a noise. You reach for your phone, but cannot find it. You arm yourself with a weapon and then open the bedroom door to find…”

What she found on the other side of that door was the inspiration for the LIFE WITH SQUID web series, which has been expanded beyond its original five pages into the continuing adventures of Holly and Jack as they care for a giant squid named Squiddipus and his best friend, Squeezy the plush rabbit.
